View Full Version : S&W Question
When did the model 29 production end and the 629 begin? Was there an overlap? Getting conflicting man. dates on a couple of used ones from a seller.
Model 629 was introduced in late 79 or early 80. The model 29 was introduced in 1955 and is still being made.
Thanks Geno that makes things clear.
Hey Geno the S&W web site doe's not show a model 29?
Has it been discontinued? They must have just recently done it. What would Dirty Harry do without his model 29?
Mr. Calahan could get a model 500 and blow someody's head and shoulders off.

I believe that the carbon steel M29 has been dropped and only the crappy, cheaper to manufacture and very ugly to the eye stainless guns will continue. Good thing I am not biased. Also explains why I only own one gun made after 1979.
