Hi all, I'm new to the sight and I've learned already. I recently purchased this used 182 series mini 14 with ramline side folding stock, eagle scope mount and an Aimpoint red dot scope. Future plans include a new glassbedded stock, heavy match barrel/gas block and trigger job. I'm new to this so I hope the picture posts.

Now your folder rig looks ready for use in Iraq!. Are those scope rings back up sights? If so where did ya get em?

the rings are just cheap $10 rings, they are not see thru but I am able to use the factory fixed sight under the weaver base. It's fun to shoot as-is but I'm more into sub-moa rifles and i've been looking at alot of the members' posts to see what company/products have done the most for accuracy in the mini. So far I'm leaning towards Accuracy Inc for a full match conversion.

Hey Bigdon, what kind of front sight are you using?

You gonna part it out in the conversion? I'd be interested in the flash hider bigdon. I know several members of this sight would give you their firstborn for that front sight.

THE FRONT SIGHT IS PART OF THE GAS BLOCK AND REPLACES THE TOP OF THE ORIGIONAL. THE FLASH HIDER PINS ONTO THE CUT DOWN BARREL AND IT APPEARS THAT A PREVIOUS OWNER FILED OFF THE SIGHT THAT WAS PART OF THE FLASH HIDER. i PROBABLY PART OUT WHAT i CAN WHEN i DO THE CONVERSION, HOWEVER IT WILL PROBABLY BE ATLEAST A YEAR BEFORE FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE (DON'T YA JUST LOVE MARRIED LIFE!)
