View Full Version : Anyone buying lately?
I haven't bought anything in a couple months, there's not anything new out there.
Anyone else finding any goodies?

I have been saving for an AR; giving the C&R's a rest until summer. I just ordered this:
http://www.fulton-armory.com/GEN_II.htm#ClassicRifles
20" A2
This counts (to me) as the AR-15-M16-M16A2 representative. Along with the M1 Garand, Carbine, 1903, and 1917 I am getting closer to the list.
The M14 will be tough, and then I look for a Krag. Well, probably the krag first.

Stupid question time:
Did you pick it up?
Do they have any left?
Sounds like a good score, congratulations!

Not until monday and no it was the only one the owner said she had it on the shelf for almost 2 years with no buyers guess I liked out.
Not quite C&R, but ... I had it in my mind to get one of the Ohio Ordnance Works A1918s this year...but the funds just will not be there (here's what I was thinking about: http://www.ohioordnanceworks.com/origin.htm ). So, instead I'm getting a Davide Pedersoli 1874 Sharpes to play around with with a 34' barrel. About a third of the cost of the BAR but should provide about as much fun, especially if I keep to black powder reloading for it.
This will be my last "major" purchase for a while. :) and :(

Either would be fun, but the 1918 would certainly cost more to feed!
Sounds good;
Larry
I just picked up an AR from DPMS. Sweet rifle. I've been looking at the BAR's and if I ever win the lottery I'll get one.

Those black rifles are a lot of fun too, aren't they?
Not as "cool" as a 193? Finn, but they can be fun.
Now I wish I could find an affordable source for C&R uniforms.

Earlier this year, I thought about the Fulton Armory GEN II Mirage II FAR-15 Upper as a possibility .... then Topp started yammering on the Sharpes he was getting and it started all over for me. Passed on getting one a couple of years ago, and kicked myself ever since. Oh well, there's always next years bonus.
Hey, Larry, you ever do the Dayton Show?

I get down to Hara a few times a year; sure. I haven't been lately, I will probably get down at the show near the end of May; I haven't checked the calendar.
Do they have AR15 mags down there at a reasonable price, usually? I admit I never looked; the desire for one came on me sudden-like.
I'm sitting here holding my CMP Dane and wondering how long it would take to save up another $470 or so. Need one for each of the boys when I die, you know.
Gloria gives me wierd looks when I say things like that. She doesn't think I need four (or maybe five) of everything, I think.
;)

Hey Swede; tell us about that DPMS. How is it?
I will be in the market for an upper or two later, and they are under consideration as a supplier.
30 rounders at Dayton are priced ok, but my preference is 20s. Those I had been getting from Adam when he had them. As for the twosies, I have the same issue: that's why I have 2 M1s. 2 03s, 2 No. 4 Mk IIs, etc. Can't show favorites.
