Recently I was looking at some Ruger single action pistols in the .45 colt caliber. I was wondering which, the Vaquero or Bisley Vaquero is closer to what would be considered a "cowboy gun?" My favorite is the Bisley Vaquero, 5+ inch barrel, in stainless steel and fake ivory grips. I'll take all the information you can send my way.

Vaquero is Spanish for cowboy.)Bisley goes back to the old days in England when they had the Bisley common shooting matches. So really either one is a cowboy shooting gun.I have a pair of the Bisley Vaquero's,and they both shoot very well.Ive been to a couple of cowboy action shooting matches and it seemed those who used the Ruger would use the Bisley Vaquero more often than the Vaquero.Either way you are buying a very fine firearm.HTH

Muchas gracias por la informacion! You quiero un Ruger vaquero!

Hey, thanks for the post. I was trying to figure out which was the closest to a cowboy action gun. I prefer the Bisley vaquero myself and you have sold me. That is what I like about his forum, I get good advice from people who actually use the products.

Can I assume by your handle that you like Rugers? The reason that I ask is because I love Rugers. I hear people from time to time beat up on them, but I have had many over the years and have had good luck with them.
