Ok, what we got here is a (pre ban:rolleyes: ) 10/22, Butler Creek folding stock, Ramline Handguard, Extended Mag Release, added 2 studs for 3 pt 'ching sling' setup (works good), Flash Hider, Williams Peep rear, Eagle Zephyr H-K style front (The Eagle Zephyr rear sights are junk, and I liked the H-K post thing of the Zephyr set more than the Williams bead front and it regulates the same so there they sit!), Eagle 30 rounders and Ruger 10 rounders. Its about 10 or 11 years old now and sees fairly heavy use. Its paid for itself in small game (and one mountain lion, but we wont go into that just yet!)

I think this is a better pic. I soaked the flash hider (anodized aluminum) in Simple Green too long and it stripped it. Local place said 5 bucks to refinish it.

Very nice. It reminds me of the pre-ban I sold, and wish I hadn't:( You got a blue job for $5? now thats a deal. I like the hand guard. Do you have a bolt buffer?

Not true blue, just anodized. No bolt buffer. What would a bolt buffer do for a .22?

The bolt buffer could prevent cracking your receiver. The bolt stop pin you have in there is made of steel, and fits in the aluminium receiver holes. As the bolt flies back it strikes the bolt stop pin. It hammers away at your receiver. Over time (possibly years), the holes elongate, and become work hardened, which can lead to cracks. The receiver is your rifle. If your receiver is ruined there goes your rifle. :( The bolt buffer replaces this pin with a plastic/rubber coated or solid plastic pin. Besides protecting your receiver it reduces recoil, and greatly quiets the action. Most bolt buffers go for around $9.95, but I bought some from this link for $6 free shipping. Hmmm never thought of that. Sounds like a great idea. Thats my oldest 10/22 so it could probably use it post haste. Thanks for the link.

I've got a lot of rounds through that 10/22. Its about 10 years old. Now you got me wanting to go pull it apart and look to see if its cracked yet, but I got to go to work first so cant yet.

i know im a little late to this thread, but very nice gun! im thinking about a handguard like the one you have. Does it get bolted to the stock? or does it clip right in?
