NO WAY!
Grey Davis and Barbra Boxer really let you do that?
We'll see. I ordered them online, they can still deny them.
If they do, I have a couple of others I am holding in reserve.
A couple of COOL plates that are no longer available in CA (get them if you can in your state today!)
556x45
762x51
762NATO is still available in CA, that's my choice if this one falls through. Take it if you want, though (first come, first served!)

Great plates.
Do you have a good home security system? Might have someone try and break in to steal the M1 and any other gun they can find.
Could also get you in hot water with the fuzz, they will see the plate and search your car.

You got me thinking Bill. Here is the plate coming my way. Should be here in a few more weeks. Not as obvious, but its just what it says on the receiver :)
I am sure folks can think of other combinations that show pride in our shooting sports.

How about Garand or is it taken? If the police stop you because of license plates that does not give them probable cause to search your vehicle.A Gentleman in Texas had a NRA sticker on his truck the officers spotted a camo jacket and decided to search the vehicle a weapon was found and he was charged with a concealed weapon. The Judge ruled just because someone has a NRA sticker and a camo jacket is not probable cause to search the vehicle.Jim:usa:
I got my plates recently. I need to get smogged before I can put them on, and then I'll take a picture.
M1 RIFLE
gotta love it.
BTW, cops aren't gonna get their panties in a bunch over a guy with the word RIFLE on his plates, with his NRA sticker on the bumper a couple of feet away. Most cops own their own guns, and respect citizens who take firearms seriously, especially cool ones like the M1 Garand.
Now if it was a lowered Cadillac, blacked out windows, and the license plate "KOPKILLA", you can believe me that they'd give them some road side assistance....

Yes, Garand is taken.
I wanted to get 2 plates:
556x45
762x51
But they were both taken.
I think that
762NATO
is available, but I'm increasingly ****ed off at NATO, so I didn't get it.
go here to try new plate names: CA DMV (https://vrir.dmv.ca.gov/ipp/ippMain.jsp)
By the way, "USGI M1" isn't yet taken...

I hated to write tickets unless I got the Mister Poolice or MF Police I would give verbel warnings and let them go on their way .I figured unless they needed an attitude adjustment there were more important things I could be doing.:usa:
My goofy mother-in-law is a amateur competitive pistol shooter.
Her plates say "PSTL PKN" (pistol packin'). She never had any problems in her home state of Montana but did get rousted in California during a visit to us. This is your average 52 year old overweight white gal in a 97 honda accord!
It was along the lines of "do you have any firearms in this car?"
Sorry to say that not all cops are as cool as the ones that post here.
All that affirmitative action and "gender equity" in big city and state police forces have thier consequences!
Like what should be standard equipment on any gun-owners auto(this means car  ) the N.R.A. sticker ; or the custom plate should not be probable cause to pull the auto  over but it would be good to have an ansew ready.
As for Treadwelli's response ,any gun related stickers or gun related gear visible while walking past your car could get a thief's attention. No matter what it's good to keep your house & guns secure. :usa:
