Just picked up a nib 10/22, like peanuts can not have just one. This is the standard blue carbine. Next will be the Houge stock and a Bushnell 1.5x4.5x32mm Banner scope. Does Ruger make rings for the issue mount or is a better mount out there ? What would be the next after market add on to make this .22 better? Singleside out. singleslide: The rings that I like the best, because of the versatility is the Burris Signature zee rings with the adaptable plastic inserts. No matter where you set zero if your turrets are off by rotating the plastic inserts you can bring it back to zero. So if for some reason the turret is set clear to the left my rotating the plastic inserts you can move the scope so the turret setting is half way in the middle and you have the same clicks to move it either right or left.............hummmmm...think I just confused myself. But they are great rings...........

Ya know what is really confusing to me is that I can buy a new 10/22 LR for about $150 at wally world. So why is the 10/22 mag over double the price...........$350..........its the same rifle except for the action......$200 dollars more for a steel action, when the alum works just great........??????? (if you say steel is stronger.......I understand........but think of the 223's out there that have alum actions.........

Hey singleside, I would second the Burris sig. z rings, and would go with a Weaver T0-9 mount. Its only about $4 Midway, Midsouth etc. The dove tale just will not hold my scope for long, the weaver mount, and rings is the way to go. Midway has a nice chart for estimating ring height. Its under Product Applications, and Info.

Yep I agree the Magnum is a bit over priced, the ammo cost a lot more to.

Thanks guys, called Midway and placed the order also see they have a good price on the ruger 10 rd. mags. Nice to get what you need in one phone call. This mount that ruger gives you with this rifle would be ok for a lite scope, however I have had trouble in the past where the rings became loose. Last thing you want is your scope falling off.
