S&W Performance Center Wheelguns

Has anyone every owned or shot one of the Smith & Wesson performance center wheelguns? Do they justify the price? Any experiences or comments would be appreciated.

I had a PC 586 L comp that came with a lousy "custom" trigger job and malaligned cylinder. I was not impressed. I think it is better to have a good gunsmith modify a basic gun to your liking. Thinking about one in particular?

I had a K-comp from S&W performance center. I loved it. Smoothest double action trigger I ever shot. I had it for 3 or 4 years. Then I got a good trade on a PARA Ord. P-13. Other wise I would still have it. I thought it was worth the $. And if you know the price of a new P-13, I made out. It held it worth even after several hundred rounds throught it. The S.# on mine was #0011.

I've got a 627PC 8 shot .357. I bought it used so paid $200 less than a new one. Ablsolutley love it and wouldn't sell it. The action was slicked up at the factory but not as good as some of my other smith's that were sent to good gun smiths. It did not shoot any better than my 586,686, or model 19. But all of those easily did 1.5" at 25 yards. Im not sure I would pay $900 for a new one but they are nice. They are smoother and fit tight but i think you money goes more into cosmetics. I looked at a new 625 pc and the action wasn't much better than a stock 625.

That's great to know. I too have looked at the 8 shot .357, it is a sweet looking gun. I just got a really good deal on a 586 and I am very pleased. I don't think I would have been much more happier with the PC gun, especially if it didn’t group any better. I guess, for me anyway, I prefer the value and functionality aspect of owning a firearm more than the prestige (and price tag) that comes with it.
