Remington 870 or Winchester 1300?

Which is the better of the two 12 gauge shotguns, the Winchester Model 1300 Coastal Marine or the Remington 870 Marine Magnum?

my vote is for the 870. I've got one and love it. Use it as a camp gun when hunting or camping.

I would give the edge to the Remington. Both are tested and true designs. Almost like the Ford vs Chevy question. One thing like about the Winchester is that it will feed the Aguilla mini-shells.

I have had a 870 and it was a great gun. I foolishly sold it a long time ago. I currently have a 1300 defender which is similar to the one you mention. It is not a hunting gun like the 870, but I got it for home defense anyway. I have put a couple hundred rounds through it and I love it, so do other people who have shot it at the range. Even with the 18" barrell and imp. cyl. choke it can still bust clay birds at pretty good distances. Anyway, they are both good guns. I am sure that you will enjoy either one.

I am a huge fan of the model 870 I bought mine in 1976 and have yet to see a misfeed. I dont baby or abuse my weapons. That particular shotgun has seen thousands upon thousands of rounds.:usa:

The remington 870 has my vote. The price is one good thing but you can also find chocke tubes without looking very hard. I think every wal-mart in the country has them.:confused:

I would have to go for the Winchester 1300. I have a Winchester 94 lever action rifle and Winchester 1300 8 shot Defender. Both types of Shotguns are great guns though. Remeber the Remington 870 has an all steel receiver where the Winchester is alloy. But according to Winchester it is the fastest pump in the world. Just my .02 cents.

I 100% Recomend the Remington 870,I have several that have been in my family for many years with thousands of rounds through some of them and NEVER a problem, winchester makes First Rate Rifles They are My personal Favorite rifle maker,But Thier Pump shotGuns Leave much to be desired Many of my Hunting Club members have had problems with them Feeding and ejection mostly :blink:
