This is my first post here and I thought I'd show ya'll some pictures of my registered receiver Mini.

It started life off as a 183 stainless GB model with full stock. It's now been converted to a KAC556F clone complete with factory folder, front sight/gas block, 13" barrel along with assorted mags.

It's louder than hell and sports a huge muzzle flash which is only multiplied when the selector is switched to auto.

I hope yall enjoy the pics. :ar15:

Notice the selector in the last pic, on either end of the trigger guard. "1" for semi and "A" for auto.

Thanks, it's a lot of fun. Mostly it's just an expensive toy though. Maybe you'll have to cross the border and come to Texas and shoot it sometime.

Ponyboy,
That is a very impressive "Homeland Defense Insrtument". :D It has got to be a "blast" to shoot! Thanks for the pictures. I saw some similar to yours at Knob Creek a couple of weeks ago and man, what a price tag! You go Ponyboy!

Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that baby sure looks fun! I dont think I have ever seen a mini quite like it. The stock's forend seems like it would be hard to hold onto in full auto with the folder in, is it? Anyhow thanks for the pictures and welcome to the forum Ponyboy.:usa:

P.S. I know im not the Incredible Hulk so it must be envy!

It's not hard to hold on to at all, though shooting it from the hip isn't very accurate. Even shooting from the shoulder it's hard to keep on target. Shooting a 4"x4" square from about 50 feet, the first shot is on target, the second shot is almost always high, then either the third or fourth shot will be on target again.

I find it's best to shoot in short bursts and start by aiming low. If the target is big enough you'll get a verticle string of rounds all in the target.

Ponyboy, is that a transferable or a post sample? It sure is nice. I've never seen a conversion before. Only let down is no three round burst, but if you have trigger control no big deal. Now you are tempting me to get out the hacksaw. How do compare to the full-length barrel? Is the controllability about the same?

It's a transferable. I had wanted an AC556 just like this, but for the price I got this one for I couldn't pass it up ($1800). It also transfered on a form 5, so there was no tax and I saved another $200. The 3rd burst wasn't worth the extra money to me. I was just a big A-Team fan as a kid.

I had the barrel cut and put the folding stock on at the same time so I'm not sure how much the controllability changed. I know it feels a lot nicer to have a pistol grip to hold on to and it seems like I've got better control now than before.

My smith charged me $140 to cut crown and rethread to 13" if you were wondering the cost.
