According to one local gunsmith, I may need to replace the barrel on my M1A NM (Springfield Armory). I has a small gas cut in the chamber from a head seperation. Going to get a second opinion Friday but until then, does anyone have suggestions on recommended suppliers? I may even upgrade to the heavy barrel.
Thanks....

Call down to your local magazine (as in news) store and get a copy of Shotgun News... It is chock full of people selling M-14 National Match barrels, it is the bible and the grass roots of the fire arm trade...Try <Shotgunnews.com> too AB

I don't know how much you want to spend. Kreiger makes excellent barrels and will install. Pricy but good. Good luck!

Hey,there, new guy. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate separation problem. I thought I'd mention that last week on eBay ,someone was selling two M14 barrels, both brand new,one regular type, parkerized, the other a Krieger match stailess steel one ! The price of the s.s. was up to $320.00 when I looked, with two days to go before end,so it may have gone for more. You might check out that site under barrels, unless you're in a hurry. I won an auction several months ago on a M1 Garand barrel, brand new never fired in cosmoline, for $80.00 ! WOW !! Such a deal ! Just my two cents worth. Also try Fulton Armory,e-parts (Numrich Gun Parts), Sarco, etc. Just my 2 cents worth. :2guns: BILL
