I thought this was an interesting article on the Israeli Special forces use of the Ruger 10/22. The site also has some interesting articles, and links. Check it out! http://www.ruger1022.com/docs/israeli_sniper.htm

Hey Cajungeo, interesting 10/22 system huh. I have not owned a 10/22 in many years but I am going to get one next week. I currently use the bushnell 1.5x4.5x32 scope on my mini 14 and mini30. It is a very good scope. What kind of scope do you use on your 10/22? Buy the way that web site I recommended was www.infowars.com (http://www.infowars.com) very large radio audience check it out. Hope the hurricane did not cause to many problems,I still have nightmares from betsy in new orleans in the mid 60s . :usa: :ar15: sigleside out

Hey singleside, thanks for the link, there is a lot of stuff there. Will check it out.
The first thing on the scopes is to replace that dovetail mount, with a weaver type mount, as the scope slips on the dovetail. I was surprised how cheap the weaver mounts were, as I recall, don't quote me, less than $9? I have 2 leftover scopes, a bushnell sportsview 3-9x32mm will use on my small game rifle, and a Trashco 6-20x44 Target scope I will use on my Target rifle. Will upgrade as I get my guns built, and see how things go.
First thing I would recommend when you get yours is to replace the "Bolt Recoil Pin" with a "Bolt Recoil Buffer" Here is a link to get them 1/2 price. It will reduce recoil on your scope, and will save your reciever's Pin hole from becoming elongated, thus ruining your gun. (Steel pin getting slamed inside an alum. hole not good) It will also greatly quiet the action.

Read an interesting article in the Sept Shooting Illust. mag, about the 10/22 (Tricking out the 10/22) It was mostly about the many after market items you could add on yourself. Someone gave the aurthor a 10/22 with bull barrel, bipods, and a Shepard scope with the adjustable Reticle, where each circle was sized to encompass a standing prairie dog, at 50 yd increments from 150 to 500 yds.(I know way behond the .22lr range), but he was shooting them out to 350 yds. Very nice but I can't afford that expensive of a scope.
Yes we dodged the lili bullet, just minor damage, here, and there, some power outages. The people about 45 mi east of us took the brunt of it. No injurys, or deaths, thats the main thing.
