I sent two Mini's to DRC for the trigger job and barrel shortening with the Choate muzzle brake. In about 3 weeks, I will let everyone know how it shoots.

COOL!! I posted in a different thread that I am going to send a mini to them as well but not until Feb.2003 :(

I am very eager to know how it looks and better yet how it shoots.

Thought you had sold your Mini-14, and were not happy with them?
Oh well. good luck. I am sending mine to Chief AJ's for his tune up.

I was going to sell them. I was pretty frustrated. One of my Mini-14s went back to the factory 4 times. The fifth time, they gave me a brand new one. With the factory 5 round mags, I have not had one malfunction.

I decided to keep them because my 9 year old loves shooting them. I am hoping the shorter barrel reduces the group size and minimizes the drift in POI as the barrel heats up.

Howdy Dave3006! Was interested in your ammunition of choice. Now that your barrel length has changed, you'll want to experiment a little (hint, hint). :)

I live in occupied Mission Viejo, Kalifornia. Therefore, I am trying to make the Mini a decent gun. I mainly use South African .223.

I will let people know how the gun works after the DRC mod.

The guns arrived back yesterday. The workmanship is awesome! And, the test targets he shot at 50 yards are sub one inch! He said he just used cheap mil surplus for the test. I will take them out this weekend. Man, the trigger on both guns feel awesome.

I will post again after I shoot the gun.
