parts kit

Hi, Ya'll, I'm new to this forum,but am in the Mini-14 a lot. My question for the general audience is - where can I buy a parts set for the M1A ? I have recently become enamored of this rifle after "fingering" one at a gun show,and fell madly and hopelessly in love with it ! (here I go again,with a bad case of the wants). I have seen ads for receivers,but parts kits seem rather scarce. Can anyone help ? Thanks , Bill:2guns:

www.floridagunworks.com (http://www.floridagunworks.com) has M1a parts kits. Don't know about the shape their in. Bought a G3 kit from them once. Got handpicked still had a pitted barrel. Oh well, I think if they fired Ray Charles you may be able to get a good one. There like $730 though. I'd just buy a put together one.

You might want to just buy a M1-A, by the time you get a parts kit and replaced the parts that are NFG, then buy the reciver and find a gunsmith to put it all togeather. You could have bought a Springfield Armory M1-A and been happy...But if you wont to try it anyway I dont know about parts kits but www.fultonarmory.com (http://www.fultonarmory.com) has got the parts, they might make you up a parts kit...Good luck...:cool:

The CMP also sell M14 parts fairly cheap. The have op rods, trigger groups and complete bolts etc.

I've never seen and "parts kits" available like you see for FAL's and Garands.

Thanks to rock,bugdriver,and djskit for your replies.That florida site I went to is sure proud of their parts kit ! For about $400.00 bucks more you can get a genuine Springfield. I've seen the Fulton Armory ad in Shotgun News,and some others who offer parts. Just thought there was a place that had a "kit" less receiver,at a reasonable cost-a pipe dream I guess.I 'm going to keep looking,though. Gotta be one out there somewhere at a reasonable cost.:2guns: BILL
