Newbie question

I'm new to this Mini14 accuracy game so here goes- If I go with a conversion from Accuracy Systems(Colorado) , a option is the heavy gas block and the enlarged gas hole. What benefits will I get out of this? I' going with a 18 or 20 ' heavy barrel.

Sorry for the slow response Dogman, with summer vacations, we have members that have been there done that, with the Acc Sys in Colorado. I believe I remember reading it is an option, the beefed up new gas block, or boring your gas block to fit the bull barrel. I don't know if there is any accuracy improvement or not. Personally I would ask Acc if what the advantages would be, and the cost diff. Maby by then some of our members will be back on line with us, and contribute an opinion.

Dogman---From what I understand, if you go with the Heavy gasblock they can install a heavier barrel than you can with the Ruger. The standard Ruger gasblock can only be bored out so much. I hope this helps.
