Got my stock from cheaper than dirt last week. I expected it to be smooth and somewhat hard. Seemed more like a rubbery feel or finish to it. Is this something over the fiberglass?
Now my plan is to paint it but not sure what kind of paint would stick the best. Any suggestions?

Brownells ALUMA-HYDE™ II has worked well for me.
This stuff takes a week to dry but is harder than just about anything else out of a can. I've used it on a junk ramline stock for a lever gun just as an experiment and it turned out pretty good.
(they reccomend that you heat the can and the object to be painted to 90 degrees for best results. I let everything sit in my truck on a sunny day. The therm I put in said it was well over 100!)

Excuse me for posting the "pointless" replies. They were not meant to offend "you" or anyone else for that matter. Good luck with your paint job ..... Six Out!
BTW ..... Have a nice day!
