Has anyone used a tactical latch on the charging handle? If so, is the installation difficult or is it better to get one already attached to the charging handle. Also, any suggestions as to where to purchase?:ar15:

Put one on last week- they do make the handle handier. Getting the roll pin out was no problem, only it was too mangled to go back in. (I've since learned they make a special punch for this). Anyway, I made a replacement pin out of a jumbo paper clip (really), cutting it about 1/16 th long on both sides and "Peening" the ends so it won't come out and so it'll clear the receiver.

Now, it's turned into a longevity test for my soft-metal "replacement" pin. One of these gunshows I'll pick up a real pin.

BTW, the tac latches are $ 20 in the DPMS catalog, but they were all over the Phoenix gun show for $ 10.
