I am looking to get the best optics I get get for about $200, which will allow for 400 to 600 yd shots. Am I kidding myself or what. Does anyone have first hand experience?
Thanks,
Patrick

You might want to try S.W.F.A. in texas. They carry a couple of Tasco's Tactical scopes with MIL DOT recticles. These are supposed to be better than the cheaper Tasco MIL DOT's I believe they're specially made for S.W.F.A. and carry a pretty good warranty. These should be about the type of scope you might be looking for there a little more than you want to spend (299.00) but they've had very good reviews. They come in 10X42, 16X42,20X42. They also carry a large selection of other brand name scopes. Do a search they have a web site.
I've always been a believer in you get what you pay for. I like Leupold. I had an unfortunate accident with a rifle that bent the tube on the scope. Sent it back to them and had a new one in two weeks with no questions asked. I also have a Shepherd on the Remington 700 VLS.
