Hello,
Just bought a new and never issued MAS 36 in orignial calibre 7.5x54 French. Rifle was covered heavily with oil and a kind of wax. Barrel was also pluged with grease and is absolutely virgin. On the receiver ring there is a crown with AR beneath. On the left side of the receiver the stampings are as follows: C69 in a rectangle, MAS Mle-1936 and the serial number starting with an L.
Can anyone tell me when this rifle whas built?
FNM makes a 170 gr load for the MAS, is it ok for serious shooting?
oh, btw I'm new to the forum ;-)
