M44 Polish Mosin sight

This is also posted on Tuco's board but I thought I might find some help here.
Am doing a project "truck gun" using a broken M39 stock and a Mosin M44 barreled action. I had intended to remove the sight and bayonet mount and they just won't come off. I have pulled all pins and taken the fr. sight dovetail off,have applied heat and pressure and leverage and the thing just won't move. Normal and reasonable procedures haven't accomplished anything,any suggestions appreciated. bikes

My plight didn't seem to arouse any interest, but for the curious, the fault for the difficult assembly removal was mine. In the process of driving the dowel pins out of the bayonet assembly I used a pin punch which had a burr on the tip, This gouged the pin channel and produced a burr tha caused the difficult. By way of a lesson let me remind all that not only must you use the right tool for the job, the tool that you use must be in good shape. bikes
