Mini14 firing pin?

I've just broke the firing pin in my mini-14 today.

Does anyone know if firing pin on the mini-14 is especially fragile? Is there an aftermarket replacement available?

I suspect I will have to send it back to Ruger for repair. Before i call them next monday, does anyone know what the turnaround time is at Ruger?

Pjtg0707, from my experience the firing pin is not that fragile. I don't know of any aftermarket firing pin. Ruger, as everyone knows, doesn't really care to sell parts to anyone. The replacement procedure for the firing pin is some what lengthly and detailed. The turn around time for your Mini-14 should not take more than 2 weeks (10 business days) once Ruger has your rifle.
