You can add a pic via URL and "UBB" code (pseudo HTML), but you can't upload them directly. So they must exist on another web server, and then you can point to them.

Anyone know where a Fajen stock like the one pictured above can be had at a fair price? I had heard Fajen is out of business...is there someone of comparable quality out there?

OK I'll bite, who's Walt Kuleck? What kind of finish is on the metal on that rifle? It looks black. Whatever it is, I want it for mine.

Walt is the webmaster for Fulton-Armory ('http://"http://www.fulton-armory.com"') and a great contributor to the M1-M14 email list.

I forget the full story on that rifle, but there was some reason he wasn't interested in keeping it parkerized (he's got so many Garands, he doesn't need to keep them all original!).

So he had it blued, as he figured it would go well with the Fajen Coffee laminated stock.

It did!

I bought a Fajen Camo laminated stock. It's WILD. You either love it or hate it. Imagine the same type of stock, but instead of laminating blond and coffee, you have laminates of blond (the predominant color), green, brown and black.

I will eventually send the stock and a Garand off to Fulton and have it built as a wonder-weapon. I'll go with their "Peerless" upgrade, Krieger barrel, glass bedded in my wild stock, with a t37 flsh hider just to make it unique. But I'll still a few traditional Garands too!

Bill,
Actually, I believe the previous owner had already blued the M1 in question and that's why Walt felt that he could tinker with it like he did. I seriously doubt Walt would take one as received from the CMP and do what was done to this particular rifle.

Yes, I guess you ARE correct! I found the story in question, at http://www.fulton-armory.com/M1Review.htm ('http://"http://www.fulton-armory.com/M1Review.htm"')

Want more Garand pictures? I clicked off some quick ones of my '99 CMP Service (Less Wood) dressed in Fajen Camo at http://perfectunion.com/lists/Gallery/fajen_camo/ ('http://"http://perfectunion.com/lists/Gallery/fajen_camo/"')
