Very nice build. I'd like to try a 6.8 but the price of ammo keeps me from it.

I tried to get out of .223/5.56
I have a Spikes dedicated .22LR upper for range plinking.
The 6.8 will be a hunting upper only,.....limited range use.
I just received a 16" BCM mid-length with BCG and DD Omega rail in a trade.
So, looks like I'm into .223/5.56 again,......or I'll sell it

I've got an AR in 6.8 and love it. You should also check out www.68forums.com....great resource on 6.8...and lots of active vendor support their too.

You've got a great looking build there. I think you'll be very happy with the Bison barrel.

I just ordered my 18" SPR barrel from Bison yesterday. I am slowly acquiring all the parts for my build for when I get back home. I just joined 68forums too. Lots of great stuff to learn there. Let us know how it shoots for you, and with what load as well.

I've got two 6.8s, working on building a third. I run 5.56 in most of my 3-Gun matches, but I bust out the Bison 20" SPR when the range goes past 300 yards. And my third upper will be for Benchrest shooting! I'm getting a non-threaded barrel from Bison next year.

It's crazy how much information is out there. And like here at PU, the members and vendors on 68forums are very informative and willing to share information, experiences, and secret recipes for ammo!

I've been very happy with my 16" 6.8 middy RRA upper sitting on a Spikes Tactical lower...but am now considering getting either a 16" or 18" middy Bison barrel. Or maybe just getting a whole 18" upper....probably going the SPR route. Decisions, decisions! Plus I am also contemplating a 5.56 upper and a dedicated .22lr upper. Anyone have any money they want to give me to fund these dreams?

By the by....I like the case you got your goodies in!

I had gotten out of 223/5.56 until last week. Got a new BCM upper in trade.


I love the dedicated .22LR upper! CMMG has the best one going now, but I am
happy with my Spikes!

If you can't decide, just get them all! Though, I hear ya, the $$$ is an issue. Good luck in your quest!

So the last bit of the 6.8 SPC is done. Mounted the Leupold VXIII 3.5-10x40 ........

I'm over on the 6.8 forums as well. Love the 6.8. Built the lower myself. Then bought a used upper (Ko-tonics, which is basically now Bison), took it apart and rebuilt with different hand guard, muzzle device etc. It was my first AR. Love the gun. Crazy accurate with the Speer 90-gr TNT bullet. Taking it hunting again tomorrow and hoping to take my first whitetail with it.
