liking the DE motif.

also, not a flame, but viperRT -

sporting clays at 500 is a little hard to believe for a mini 30.

don't get me wrong or anything - I'm not knocking the 30.
I happen to own one and I love it.
but a 500 yard shot into a 4-5" circle (around the size of a clay pigeon) with a full bull rifle cartridge (.270, 30.06, .308, etc.) out of a bolt gun is a pretty impressive shot for most folks... that's right around MOA, which is pretty tough for a mini 30 - even if the shooter is highly skilled. (again -not a flame, you may just be one of those guys that is "highly skilled" and happen to own a mini 30 that is tighter than a virgin's whoohaa and drives tacks.)

for 7.62x39 4-5" at 500 is a ridiculous shot IMHO. and one hell of a rainbow like trajectory
what is your ballistics data? handloads? mods? got any footage to back this up? I've seen some you tube footage of a guy making a 24" steel plate at 420 consistently - but it's pretty obvious he isn't holding a 4-5" group on it.

this video is here:
