My choices when I sometimes do carry a 9mm are a bonded HP rnd to prevent jacket seperation, not too light nor too heavy like the 124 +P or there about. Design or maker? Ha, Ha well I don't know honestly. I haven't read a box of JHP ammo that's guaranteed to flower yet but some have better marketing, names and packaging. Lately I've been carrying the Winchester PDX1 124 +P bonded HP, who knows 6 months from now what'll be Probably Gold Dot or HST.
It's difficult to choose a rnd with these denim covered paper and water filled jug tests! Wet phone books? The gel test isn't any better... No bone, muscle, 5 layers of skin, fat, tendon, fluid and clothing- how does "ballistic gel" represent human tissue as we're different multiple layers and gel is 1 constant layer?
As mentioned by SFsc616171 these so called tests often show the hp plugging up and not expanding or the very opposite, kinda luck of the draw. Pick a rnd that you're accurate with and functions well in your weapon.
