You can install a VFG below the Kydex hand guard, SAGE offers a kit for this (M14APRS).
As you can tell from this brand new family shot, I have made a few changes over the years.
I have installed Magpul AFGs on the Mod 0 and Mod 1, the RINM-SEI uses just the original Kydex cover.
