I put this 1911 set up togather a few years ago to honor my grandfather. who used the same type of rig in Europe during WW2

i'm waiting for the day that the CMP starts releasing the 1911a1s stockpiled at Anniston Ordinance Depot......the Anniston CMP store is 1 mile from my workplace.

1911

That would be a great day indeed! worked at the big holder weapons complex at Ft. Knox, ky while in the army in the late 80's there were huge cage's full of 1911's some still new in the w.w.2 plastic wrap. handled a lot of singer & remington rand's that looked close to mint. always wondered what happen to those fine pistols.

that's beyond cool !

my Dad worked small-arms refurb at Anniston Army (now Ordinance) Depot at the end of and just after Vietnam and rebuilt many many A1s

our local Congressman Mike Rogers has introduced a bill allowing the A1s to be released for sale thru the Anniston CMP store.......I don't know if the store in Ohio will participate or not.

My daughter shooting one of my .45ACP's.

Oh wait, that's not a 1911! It is a .45 ACP though, a S&W Scandium.
