Does anyone have any feedback on the new SW 1911? I have heard some good things but did find that some are being recalled for a firing pin safety problem.

haven't heard that, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, S&W has been making the frames for kimber so you know they can do it well.

I have had a model 108284 target model for about 2 months now and have put close to 1000 rounds threw it and only had 3 failures and that was the first three clips fired through it so I chalked it up to breakin and the problem has not happened again in fact the more I shoot it the more I love this thing. It is by far the best shooting pistol I have owned and one of the better I have shot and I have shot some of the custom model 1911 out there that I thought were not worth twice or more the money I bought mine for. I have had range officers and shooting trainers shoot mine and all have said that it is one of the best 1911's they have shot so that and how it shoots in my hands tells me I have made the right choice.

Well it looks all of us weren't around for that thread since the other posters entered the forum late 2003 and I just got involved so if this is something that has been discussed before sorry but so has Glock Vs. XD and it does not seem to be letting up either, or which AR you prefer. Its going to be talked about by many people and for it to be a repeat in a internet world full of millions is not surprising.
